The phone number for Alegeus generated text messages has changed.
Misuse of AI technologies for social engineering fraud
One of the newest trends in account takeover fraud is the use of AI technologies to obtain one-time passcodes (OTP) from consumers. The bad actors begin a login or registration sequence in the participant’s account. They then use AI-generated voice calls or other means to impersonate a legitimate organization to convince the account holder to share the OTP that is triggered by the login or registration attempt.
Once the bad actor has the OTP, they can access the participant’s account and account preferences, including changing direct deposit information to redirect funds.
REMINDER: Never share an OTP or password with anyone. Zenith will never ask you for an OTP or password.
